Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy takes account of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which takes effect from 25th May 2018.

Pollokshields Heritage (PH) receives contact details from its members and supporters - name and postal address and, in most cases, telephone number and email address - from the membership forms sent to us.  Where PH receives a membership form indicating an annual donation by standing order, detail of the donor’s bank account is also received.

The contact details are transferred to the PH Database which is kept on the computer of the society’s treasurer/membership secretary.  The hand-written membership forms are retained by the treasurer/membership secretary and form part of the annual accounting procedure.

At PH events, for example lectures and guided tours, visiting participants are invited to offer their names and email address, which can then be added to the PH Database.

The PH Database is used solely for the purpose of keeping in touch.  It is not used to pass on personal information about our members and supporters to any third party except where they have requested us to do so.

From time to time the PH Database is used to pass on information of coming events organised by PH and other local organisations. The committee hopes those on the PH Database will wish to continue receiving such information. If not, however, please notify the treasurer/membership secretary at treasurer@pollokshieldsheritage.org.uk or by post to Membership Secretary, PO Box 3754, Glasgow G41 4YF.
