Pollokshields Heritage  



It is intended that the residential character of West Pollokshields should be maintained, and any development should be compatible with the residential use of the area.

Where new development within West Pollokshields is proposed, there will be a presumption in favour of 2-storey single or semi-detached villas which respect the existing character of the adjoining buildings in terms of building lines, height and massing, and in the use of natural stone for front and side elevations and natural slate for all roofs. The subdivision of new or recently built villas will not be permitted and consideration will only be given to such proposals for older property providing the external appearance is not materially altered.

Within the Conservation Area, the Director of Planning will only accept applications for detailed planning permission, not for outline consent.
